Falcons suspend Maynard
Hunter Maynard has been suspended indefinitely by Bowling Green State University head football coach Dave Clawson.
Maynard was suspended for a violation of team rules.
After playing in seven games as a freshman in 2011, Maynard missed the entire 2012 season with a knee injury. The 6-foot-0, 295 pound Maynard, was a defensive tackle for the Falcons.

BG's Chiricosta earns MAC honor
CLEVELAND - Bowling Green State University's Nikki Chiricosta has been named the Mid-American Conference tennis player of the week. Chiricosta, a junior, earns the honor for the first time this season and the fourth time in her Falcon career.
Chiricosta was 4-0 last weekend, as the Falcons beat Youngstown State and Evansville.
On the season, Chiricosta has an overall record of 33-11, leading the team in wins. Her 15-5 singles record is the best on the Falcons, as is her 18-6 doubles mark. Just a junior, Chiricosta already ranks 15th in school history in career singles wins, with 66. She is 14th all-time at the school with 65 doubles victories, and her career total of 131 combined wins ties her for 12th at Bowling Green.

Owens men post victory
The Owens Community College men's basketball team beat Cuyahoga CC, 74-40, Wednesday.
Owens' leaders were: James Kelly, 12 points, 10 rebounds; Joe Retic II, 10 points, five assists; Andy Bachman, 10 points; and Tony Boykins, nine points, eight rebounds.
Kelly now has 993 career points at Owens.
Owens has won three straight games and is 17-7 overall and 6-1 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.

Bezeau sets assist record in Owens win
Danielle Bezeau has a school-record 14 assists to help Owens Community College beat Cuyahoga CC, 89-42, in a women's basketball game Wednesday.
Bezeau also had 12 rebounds, seven points and four steals.
Other Owens leaders were: Emma-Jean Ricketts, 20 points' Mackenzie Heacock, 17 points; Uniqua Mitchell, 12 points, 11 rebounds; and Karahn Scott, 10 points, 12 rebounds.
Owens is 18-7 overall and 5-2 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.

Weston sets baseball signups
WESTON - Baseball signups are planned for the Village Hall. The registration is $25 per child.
The signup dates and times are: Feb. 16, 10 a.m.-noon; Feb. 23, 10 a.m-noon; and Feb. 27, 6-8 p.m.
