Otsego boys 11th in state poll
COLUMBUS - Otsego's boys basketball team is ranked 11th in the latest state Division II boys basketball poll.
The Knights, 16-1 overall, received 24 points in the voting. Otsego was 14th with 18 points last week.
The poll is on page 11.
BG's Shea honored by CCHA
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Bowling Green's Bobby Shea is the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's defensmen of the week.
The senior had four assists and an on-ice rating of plus-4 in the Falcons' 4-1, 7-3 sweep of Lake Superior. He also blocked six shots and helped BG kill off all seven of Lake Superior's power plays.
He has three goals and 13 assists and an ice-rating of plus-15 in 27 games this season.
BG, 8-4-2 in its last 14 games overall, received one vote in this week's U.S. College Hockey Online poll.

Two recruits commit to BG hockey
Two recruits have verbally committed to play college hockey at Bowling Green.
The two are forward Kevin Dufour of Carleton Place (Ontario) in the Central Canadian (Junior) Hockey League and goalie Chris Nell of Chicago in the United States (Junior) Hockey League.
Dufour has 22 goals and 26 assists, including six power-play goals, in 49 games.
The 5-foot-11, 186-pounder is from Beauport, Quebec and turns 21 in July.
Nell has a 4.03 goals-against average and an .887 save percentage in 14 games (10 starts) this season.
Nell (6-1, 162) is from Green Bay, Wis. and turns 19 in September.
Based on their birth dates, Dufour will join the Falcons next season and Nell will join BG for the 2014-15 or the 2015-16 season.
Under NCAA rules, BG coach Chris Bergeron can't comment on the recruits until they've signed their national letters of intent. -GORDON
Northwood seeks volleyball coach
NORTHWOOD - Northwood High School has an opening for a head volleyball coach.
Owens' Kelly earns OCCAC honor
James Kelly, a sophomore forward for Owens Community College, has been named Ohio Community College Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week for the second time this season.
Last week, Kelly picked up two more double-doubles in conference wins over Edison Community College and Columbus State Community College.
In all, he posted 40 points, 25 rebounds, six steals, four blocks and one assist in the game.
Youth girls basketball tourney set
FOSTORIA - The eighth annual St. Wendelin fifth and sixth grade girls basketball tournament is March 1-3.
The cost is $95.
BG baseball registration scheduled
The registrations for the Bowling Green youth baseball house leagues have been set.
The registrations are Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon, Sunday from noon-3 p.m. and Feb. 16 from 9 a.m.-noon at Carter Park red building.
The leagues are: T-ball, 6-and-under; Rookie League, 7-8; Pee Wee League, 9-10; Junior League, 11-12; Senior League, 13-15; and Colt League, 16-19.
The fees are: T-ball, $55; Rookie League, $75; Pee Wee and Junior, $105; Senior League, $120; and Colt League, $185. There is a $5 discount for registering and paying by Sunday.
