Perrysburg, Lake boys in state top 10
COLUMBUS – Perrysburg’s and Lake’s boys remained ranked in the top 10 of the state media basketball poll.

In Division I, Perrysburg moved up to seventh with 81 points. The Yellow Jackets were ninth with 38
points last week.
In Division II, Lake suffered its first loss of the season last week and has dropped to ninth with 58
points. The Flyers were fourth with 130 points last week.

BGHS hockey receives votes
Bowling Green was among the schools receiving votes in this week’s state high school hockey coaches poll.

BG is 13-9-1.
Start times moved up for high school games
The starting time for tonight’s Eastwood at Otsego boys and Elmwood at Rossford girls basketball games
have changed.
The junior varsity game starts at 4:45 p.m., followed by the varsity contest.
The Eastwood-Otsego freshmen game was canceled.
BGSU women receive votes
Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team received seven votes and is 33rd in the latest
Associated Press media poll.
Falcon hockey out of poll
Bowling Green dropped out of this week’s U.S. College Hockey online poll.
The Falcons, who were swept at home by Michigan Tech and have lost three of their last four games, were
25th with seven points last week.
Rogers earns MAC player of the week honors
CLEVELAND – Alexis Rogers, a senior on Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team, has
earned the Mid-American Conference player of the week honors.
Rogers averaged 21 points, 9.5 rebounds, three assists and two steals per game last week as the Falcons
picked up wins over Ohio and Toledo.
Rogers is averaging 14.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game this season.
BGSU women’s golf opens with win
LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Bowling Green State University’s women’s golf team posted a 3-1-1 win over
Northern Illinois and a 3-2 win over Bradley on the first day of the Women’s Mid-American Conference
Match Play Challenge.
The event is being held at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.
BG’s Patricia Holt, Shelby Wilson and Lily Bartell posted wins over NIU, while Hannah Lewis, Bailey
Arnold and Bartell were winners in their matches against Bradley.
Griffin named MAC swimmer of the week
CLEVELAND – Bowling Green State University swimmer Victoria Griffin is the Mid-American Conference’s
swimmer of the week.
Griffin won three individual events and two relays in two BG dual meet wins last week.
Girls fast-pitch softball signups set
The Bowling Green Girls Fast-Pitch Association has set its signup dates.
The dates are Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon; Sunday, noon-3 p.m.; Feb. 15, 9 a.m.-noon; and March 4, 6-7 p.m. at
the Henschen Building at Carter Park.
The ages groups are 8U to 16U. All ages are eligible to register on any of these dates.
The fee for 8U players is $65.The fee for 10U-16U is $85.00.There is a price break for multiple-player
households.

Falcon baseball camp planned
Bowling Green Falcon assistant coaches Mike Huling and Garrett Gray will hold hitting and defensive
clinics this month.
The clinics are for participants of all ages and skill levels to receive 1-on-1 instruction.

BG youth baseball signup set
Registration for Bowling Green youth baseball is Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon, Sunday from noon-3 p.m. and
Feb. 15 from 9 a.m.-noon in the Henschen Building at Carter Park.
The leagues are T-Ball (ages 4-6), Rookie (7-8), Pee Wee (9-10), Junior (11-12) and Senior (13-14). A
player’s age is determined as of April 30.

Massey to be inducted into NJCAA Hall of Fame
TOLEDO – Former Owens Community College men’s basketball player Jeff Massey has been named to the
National Junior College Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
Massey played for the Express from 1991-93, leading Owens to back-to-back NJCAA Division II national
titles. The team was 72-3 in that span.
Massey finished his career with 1,894 points, which is an Owens record and is ninth in NJCAA history.
