Kyle Rhoad, from Elmwood High School, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America baseball third team.
Rhoad, with a 3.91 grade-point average in supply chain management, finished his bachelor's degree in business in three years at EMU and recently completed his Master of Business Administration with a focus in supply chain management. Rhoad was a Dean's List mainstay, a Merlanti Ethics Scholar, and was named Academic All-Mid-American Conference in 2007.
The senior captain started all 60 games for the Eagles this season, and was recently named to the Mid-American Conference all-tournament team after leading the tournament in home runs with four.
Rhoad tallied 32 stolen bases this season, the most in a single season in EMU history. Rhoad finished the season batting a team-best .349, while leading the team in runs (69) and hits (81). His 158 career runs scored rank fourth all-time in school history, while his 648 career at-bats rank 10th on the all-time list.

Alan Bowsher, from Elmwood High School, recently completed his junior season for the Ohio Northern track team.
Bowsher earned Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner of the year at both the indoor and outdoor conference championship meets, taking first in the outdoor 5,000 and 10,000 earlier this month.
He was also named to the first-team academic All-OAC team.

Jimmy O'Brien, from Eastwood High School, earned All-American honors twice at the recent Division III national outdoor track and field meet. He was a 10-time All-American during his Ohio Northern University career.
This year, he was fifth in the 800 (1:51.83) and sixth in the 1,500 (3:54.56) at the nationals.

Ben Hammer, from Elmwood High School, recently completed his freshman season with the University of Toledo baseball team.
Hammer finished the season as the starting left fielder for the Rockets, playing in 31 games (26 starts). He compiled a .283 batting average (28-of-99) with nine doubles and 17 RBI. He also pitched in seven games. UT finished the season 24-30 overall and 14-12 in the Mid-American Conference, losing to Kent State in the MAC tournament finals.
Hammer finished with a 4.0 grade-point average in the spring semester and has a 3.655 cumulative GPA in his major of health care administration.

Curtis Smithey, from Elmwood High School, is a freshman on the University of Findlay track and field team.
Smithey set a Findlay outdoor record in the 400 (47.18) and placed third at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet. His time qualified him for the NCAA Division II national championships where he placed 17th overall in the 400 and was a part of the 1,600 relay team that finished ninth overall.
Smithey will be participating in the U.S. Junior National Championships in Eugene, Ore. June 26-28.

Brooke Morgart, from Elmwood High School, recently completed her freshman season for the Ohio University softball team.
Morgart started 46 of 47 games for OU, finishing with a .265 average (30-of-113) with two triples, six RBI, and five stolen bases.

Tommy Harmon, from Perrysburg High School, recently completed his junior season for the Ohio Wesleyan men's golf team.
Harmon finished in a tie for 32nd place at the NCAA Division III national tournament. His finish helped the Bishops finish in seventh place as a team, the sixth time OWU has finished in the top 10 nationally the past eight seasons.
Harmon was also named Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Amanda Kern, from Bowling Green High School, recently completed her college softball career at the University of Findlay.
Kern started 41 games at third base for the Oilers, batting .308 with 32 hits (nine for extra bases), 15 RBI and nine stolen bases.
Kern had played three seasons at Cleveland State University before transferring to Findlay.

Brittany Dauterman, from Elmwood High School, recently completed her freshman season with the University of Findlay softball team.
Dauterman was named second-team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, batting .318 on the season with a team-high six home runs while driving in 32 runs.
On the mound, Dauterman appeared in 36 games (35 starts), compiling a 4-7 record with a 3.95 ERA, including 10 complete games.

Jason Cress, from Bowling Green High School, recently completed his junior season for the University of Ashland baseball team.
In 56 games (54 starts), Cress batted .304 (45-of-148) with four home runs, 40 RBI and 40 runs scored.

Ryan Rothenbuhler, from Elmwood High School, recently completed his sophomore season for the University of Findlay baseball team.
Rothenbuhler appeared in 13 games (10 starts), posting a 5-4 record with a 3.15 ERA. He had team-highs in saves (three), complete games (six) and strikeouts (42).
He batted .259 (7-for-27) in 10 games.

Nathaniel Fitch, from Elmwood High School, recently completed his freshman season with the University of Findlay baseball team.
Fitch appeared in 22 games, making eight starts, finishing .167 with a home run and six RBI.

Robert Marsh, from Elmwood High School, recently completed his sophomore season with the University of Findlay baseball team.
Marsh appeared in 48 games (47 starts), batting .263 on the season with a team-high 12 doubles. He had 36 RBI and 32 runs scored.

Jared James, from North Baltimore High School, recently completed his freshman year on the Defiance College golf team.
James finished the season with an 18-hole average of 85.2. He finished 18th overall at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament.

Courtney Weiss, from Perrysburg High School, recently completed her freshman season for the Ohio University track and field team.
Weiss finished ninth overall in the 400 hurdles (1:02.9) at the Mid-American Conference championships. She was also a part of the Bobcats' 1,600 relay team that finished eighth at the MAC meet, helping OU to a fifth-place finish.

Julia Weisenborn, from Otsego High School, recently completed her senior season for the Ohio University track and field team.
Weisenborn was also a member of the Bobcats' cross country team.

Rachael Clay, from Rossford High School, recently completed her freshman season with the Miami (Ohio) University track and field team.
Clay was part of Miami's 1,600 relay team that finished third at the MAC Championships in a time of 3:49.16. She also finished seventh in the 400 with a time of 56.87.

Camille Wasserman, from Lakota High School, recently completed her freshman season for the Kent State University track and field team.
Wasserman was a pole vaulter for the Golden Flashes.

Tommy Kralovic, from Rossford High School, has signed a national letter to play basketball at Owens Community College.
A senior at Rossford, Kralovic averaged 18.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs this past season in which he also surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career.

Brittany Davis, from Bowling Green High School, has singed her national letter of intent to play softball and soccer at Concordia University (Ann Arbor, Mich.).
Davis received two athletic scholarships and an academic scholarship to Concordia.

Demi Moschetti, from Perrysburg High School, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for Owens Community College.
Moschetti led Perrysburg with 14.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the season, helping the Yellow Jackets finish as Division I regional runner-ups.
