Prep Roundup: Eastwood boys soccer wins (8-23-13) PDF Print E-mail

In Elmore, Eastwood’s Tim Heinzelmann scored three times to lead the Eagles to a 6-4 Northern Buckeye Conference win over Woodmore.
Jacob Montag added one goal and two assists, while Logan Baugher and Joey Salinas each scored goals for Eastwood.

Rossford wins
Leaders in Rossford’s 25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 25-19 win over Wauseon on Thursday were: Alex Birdsell, six kills; Mikhala Dunne, 40 assists; Karly Durco, two aces, six kills; nine digs; Julie Hotz, 12 kills, four aces, 13 digs, two blocks; Margo Jackson, two kills, two aces, eight digs; Maggie Leahy, 12 kills, seven digs, two blocks; Claire Verbosky, four aces, three digs.

SEVENTH GRADE
CROSS COUNTRY
Tatum Krupp, of Bowling Green Middle School, led the seventh grade girls with an 11th overall finish at Lake Middle School. Krupp ran a 15:46. Kenzie Cookson, 17:00 was 20th, followed by Hannah Paquette, 17:10; McKenzie Matney, 17:44; and Britta Hodgkins, 19:08. Jake Strata led the seventh grade boys with a 14:31, good enough for 12th place. Palmer Yenrick was 13th at 14:32 followed by Zach Gaskins, 16:46 and Evan Rosendale, 17:23.

EIGHTH GRADE
CROSS COUNTRY
Jenna Castor, of Bowling Green Middle School, led the eighth grade girls with a time of 15:14, good for 10th place overall. Cailyn Overhulse was 18th at 15:50 and Skye Sloane was 19th at 16:02. Trisha Stichler and Breanna Matney finished at 16:54 and 17:30, respectively. Zach Applegate finished second out of 81 boys in the race with a time of 11:56.
