Mud Hens take two from Columbus (4-19-13) PDF Print E-mail

TOLEDO — John Lindsey’s two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday gave the Toledo Mud Hens a 4-3 win over the Columbus Clippers in an International League game.
Jordan Lennerton led off the inning with a single and was replaced by pinch-runner Ben Guez, bringing Lindsey to the plate.
Lennerton and Lindsey both were 2-for-4, and Shawn Hill and Jose Ortega held Columbus to no earned runs on six hits.
In the completion of a suspended game from Thursday, the Mud Hens were 3-1 winners over the Clippers.
Toledo scored twice in the first, and Jose Alvarez, Luke Putkonen. Matt Hoffman and Bruce Rondon combined on a seven-hitter. They struck out 12 and walked two.
Toledo’s Nick Castellanos was 2-for-2 with a double, run scored and a run batted in.
