TOLEDO - Three Toledo pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout as the Mud Hens beat Columbus, 7-0 Thursday. The Mud Hens are 36-53 in the International League West.
Ramon Garcia pitched the first six innings for Toledo, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out seven. Blaine Hardy went two innings allowing two hits and striking out three. Jose Valverde pitched the ninth inning, striking out one.
Mike Cervenak hit a two-run home run and finished with three RBI for Toledo. Also for the Mud Hens, Bryan Holaday had three hits, Danny Worth hit two doubles and had two RBI and Ben Guez had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
On Wednesday, the Clippers slipped past the Mud Hens, 3-2. The two teams combined for 23 hits, including 13 by the Clippers.
Jordan Lennerton had two hits, including a double, and an RBI for Toledo and Holaday had two hits.
