TOLEDO - Toledo's Max Scherzer fired eight scoreless innings as the Mud Hens notched a 4-0 win over Durham Thursday night. Toledo is 24-18 in the International League West.
Scherzer allowed only one hit and one walk while striking out 10 batters in his first appearance for Toledo after being reassigned from Detroit.
Jeff Frazier's three-run homer in the sixth gave Toledo the lead for good. Frazier went 2-for-3 with the home run and a double, and Ryan Raburn was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
