Prep stats start Thursday
The Sentinel-Tribune will start publishing its weekly high school sports statistics for football, volleyball, cross country and golf on Thursday.
Instruction sheets were faxed to the athletics directors of the individual schools last week for forwarding to the coaches.

Falcons men's golf team third
The Bowling Green State University men's golf team shot a 36-hole score of 581 in the first day of action at the John Piper Invitational. The six-team event is being played at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green.
The Falcons trail Marshall University and Valparaiso, who are tied for first with scores of 577.
The leader for the Falcons is freshman Jose Narro with a 3-under total of 141 (72-69). He is tied for third place overall.
Other scorers for BGSU were: Chris Melvin, tied for fifth, 142; Brett Rinker, tied for 16th, 148; and Ryan Triller, tied for 24th,150.

BGSU women's golf eighth
WAYNESVILLE, N.C. - Bowling Green State University's women's golf team is tied for eighth after the first day of play at the Great Smokies Intercollegiate.
The tournament is being played at the Waynesville Inn - Golf Resort & Spa.
The Falcons shot a 306 total. Samford University leads the 12-team event with a 281.
Mikayla Baer led the way for the Falcons shooting a 73 (37-36), which is tied for 19th.
Other scorers for BGSU were: Lily Bartell, tied for 25th, 75; and Bailey Arnold and Patricia Holt, tied for 43rd, 79 each.

Express men's golf in second
HAMMOND, Ind. - The Owens Community College men's golf team is second at 317 after the first round of the 16-team Mike Lalaeff Memorial Invite. The event is being played at the Long Marsh Golf Course.
Saint Xavier (304) is the team leader.
Brandon Hoelzer led the Express shooting a 77, which is tied for sixth.
Other scorers for Owens were: Philippe Weppernig, tied for 10th, 78; Blaze Hogan, tied for 19th, 80; and Dru Hein, and Harrison Long, tied for 27th, 82 each.

Baus finished 12th
Otsego's Caleb Baus fnished 12th in the boys Division I-II race Saturday at the Lakota Invitational. His time was 17:02.
His finish was inadvertently admitted from a story on the meet that was published in Monday's Sentinel-Tribune.
