College Scene: Williams off to strong start at Purdue (9-28-13) PDF Print E-mail

(Editor’s Note: The College Scene updates the activities of athletes from Wood County high schools and county residents who are playing sports at the college level. It is published once a month and includes sports currently in season as well as any recent college signings, and honors or awards.
Today’s College Scene is for last names ending in M through Z. Athletes with last names ending in A through L was published Friday.

Maddy Williams, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the Purdue University women’s soccer team.
She is off to a fast start with the Boilermakers, leading the team in scoring. Williams has played in nine of Purdue’s 10 games, and has a team-high seven goals while contributing five assists. She is in the top 10 in scoring in the Big Ten.
In Purdue’s first two Big Ten games, Williams scored the lone goal in a 6-1 loss to Penn State and assisted on the only goal in a 3-1 loss to Wisconsin.
Ali Mass, a resident of Walbridge, is a senior on the Lourdes College volleyball team.
She has played in all 14 matches for Lourdes and has 64 kills, seven aces, 86 digs, and 86 digs.
Drew Plummer, from Lake High School, is a junior on the Tiffin University women’s soccer team.
She played last season at Owens Community College.
Plummer has started the first five games for Tiffin, and has two assists.
Tara Preble, from Lake High School, is a sophomore defender on the Owens Community College women’s soccer team.
Preble has played in all eight games for the Express, and has two assists.
Katie Primeau, from Eastwood High School, is a junior setter on the Baldwin-Wallace volleyball team.
She has played in all 17 matches for the Yellow Jackets, and leads the team with 238 assists. Primeau also has 19 kills, 13 aces, and 114 digs.
Marissa Ramirez, from Northwood High School, is a sophomore defender on the Owens Community College women’s soccer team.
She has started seven of Owens’ first eight games, and has two assists.
Stephanie Richards, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the Lourdes University volleyball team.
Through 42 sets, Richards has a team-high 132 kills, along with 11 aces, 76 digs, and 21 total blocks.
Logan Riker, from Bowling Green High School, is a senior on the Quinnipiac University volleyball team.
She has played in all 13 matches for the Bobcats this season, and leads the team with 154 digs. She also has 21 assists and 10 service aces.
Mica Robinson, from Elmwood High School, is a freshman on the Notre Dame (Ohio) football team.
He had two assisted tackles in Notre Dame’s 34-25 win over West Virginia Wesleyan.
Clay Rolf, from Eastwood High School, is a redshirt junior on the Bowling Green State University football team.
He is a backup at right tackle.
Courtney Rolf, from Eastwood High School, is a sophomore on the volleyball team at the University of Findlay.
Jeffrey Schorsch, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the tennis team at Valparaiso University.
He is off to a 3-2 start in singles play and is 2-3 in double action.
Karter Sell, from Perrysburg High School, is a junior forward on the Duquesne University men’s soccer team.
Sell has appeared in all eight matches for the Dukes, and has scored one goal.
Alyssa Shimel, from Eastwood High School, is a senior on the University of Michigan women’s golf team.
At the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate, Shimel shot a 149 and tied for 39th.
Sarah Sikula, from Bowling Green High School, is a freshman on the Western Illinois volleyball team.
She has played in 13 sets for the Leathernecks this fall.
Geri Siudzinski, from Perrysburg High School, is a sophomore midfielder on the University of Toledo women’s soccer team.
She has started seven of UT’s eight matches, and has two assists.
Steve Slocum, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the Miami RedHawks football team.
Lindsay Smith, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the University of Toledo volleyball team.
Kyle Smithey, from Elmwood High School, is a sophomore on the University of Findlay men’s cross country team.
Derek Snowden, from Eastwood High School, is a freshman defender on the Owens Community College men’s soccer team.
He has played in four matches, and has one goal and one assist.
Jady Snyder, from North Baltimore High School, is a freshman on the University of Findlay football team.
Jonathan Stoner, from Bowling Green High School, is a senior on the Wittenberg football team.
In Wittenberg’s first two games, Stoner has made 12 receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown.
Lorne Strausbaugh, from Elmwood High School, is a freshman on the Malone University cross country team.
In the Tommy Evans Invitational, Strausbaugh was 38th overall in 23:20. In the Malone University he was 13th in 21:50.
Hayden Thomas, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the Bluffton University football team.
Becca Tudor, from Perrysburg High School, is sophomore on the McNeese State University women’s golf team.
Kendall Tudor, from Perrysburg High School, is a junior on the McNeese State University women’s golf team.
She has played three rounds this fall and is averaging 85.0.
Chelsea Watson, from Bowling Green High School, is a sophomore on the Niagara University volleyball team.
Watson has played in all 44 sets for Niagara this fall and has 59 kills, a team-high 15 aces, 21 digs and 20 total blocks.
April Weaver, from Perrysburg High School, is a sophomore on the tennis team at Washington College.
Weaver advanced to the quarterfinals in the championship singles draw in the ITA southeast regional. Weaver also played doubles in the event, losing in the consolation round.
Hillary West, from Lake High School, is a redshirt sophomore at Lourdes University, who competes in cross country and softball.She finished in 23:48 at the National Catholic Championships earlier this month.
West was named a NFCA scholar-athlete in softball, for athletes who have a 3.50 grade-point-average or higher.
Bennett Westfall, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the football team at Defiance College.
Mollie Whitacre, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman midfielder on the Ohio University women’s soccer team.
She has played in eight of Ohio’s first nine matches, and has scored one goal.
Aimee Whitmer, from Otsego High School, is a senior on the Bluffton University women’s soccer team.
She has started all six matches for Bluffton this fall ,and is second on the team with three goals.
Eric Wymer, a resident of North Baltimore, is a sophomore on the Ohio Northern cross country track team. He attended Van Buren High School.
At the Bluffton Invitational, he was sixth overall in 19:56.
Emily Wyrick, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the University of Toledo women’s cross country team.
