College Scene: Williams leads Purdue soccer in scoring (11-01-13)

354-0314, or e-mail [email protected].)Maddy Williams, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman
on Purdue’s women’s soccer team.Through 18 matches, Williams leads the Boilermakers in scoring with 26
points, including a team-high 10 goals. In 10 Big Ten matches she leads the team with 10 points, including
four goals.Her 10 goals are tied for the most by a freshman at Purdue and her 26 points are the most-ever by
a Purdue freshman.She’s only the sixth player in school history to record at least 10 goals in a
season.Earlier this month, Williams was the Big Ten offensive player of the week and freshman player of the
week after scoring both goals in 1-0 wins over both Illinois and Northwestern.Ali Mass, a resident of
Walbridge, is a senior on the Lourdes College volleyball team.She has played in all 19 matches for Lourdes
and has 86 kills and 107 digs.Drew Plummer, from Lake High School, is a junior on the Tiffin University
women’s soccer team.Plummer has started 11 matches for Tiffin, and has two goals and four assists.Tara
Preble, from Lake High School, is a sophomore defender on the Owens Community College women’s soccer
team.Preble has played in 16 matches for the Express, and has three assists.Katie Primeau, from Eastwood
High School, is a junior setter on the Baldwin-Wallace volleyball team.She has played in 20 matches for the
Yellow Jackets, and has 286 assists. Primeau also has 19 aces, and 131 digs.Marissa Ramirez, from Northwood
High School, is a sophomore defender on the Owens Community College women’s soccer team.She has one goal and
two assists this season, making 16 starts.Stephanie Richards, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on
the Lourdes University volleyball team.Through 24 matches, Richards has a team-high 243 kills, along with 21
aces, 163 digs, and 36 blocks.Logan Riker, from Bowling Green High School, is a senior on the Quinnipiac
University volleyball team.She has played in all 24 matches for the Bobcats this fall, and leads the team
with 305 digs. She also has 41 assists and 18 aces.James Roberts, from Perrysburg High School, is a junior
on the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs soccer team. He is a team captain this fall.He has started
13 matches for the Mountain Lions and leads the team in scoring with 15 points, including six goals. Two of
his goals have been eventual game-winners.Earlier this season, he was the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
offensive player of the week after scoring three goals and adding an assist in matches against ranked
opponents, including a victory over No. 16 Fort Lewis College.Mica Robinson, from Elmwood High School, is a
freshman on the Notre Dame (Ohio) football team.Clay Rolf, from Eastwood High School, is a redshirt junior
on the Bowling Green State University football team.He is a backup offensive tackle.Courtney Rolf, from
Eastwood High School, is a sophomore on the volleyball team at the University of Findlay.Jeffrey Schorsch,
from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the tennis team at Valparaiso University.He finished the fall
season 9-4 in singles play and 4-5 double action.The nine singles wins tied for first on the team.Karter
Sell, from Perrysburg High School, is a junior forward on the Duquesne University men’s soccer team.Sell has
played in all 14 matches for the Dukes, making 12 starts. He has one goal and one assist this season.Sarah
Sikula, from Bowling Green High School, is a freshman on the Western Illinois volleyball team.She has played
in 18 sets for the Leathernecks this fall.Geri Siudzinski, from Perrysburg High School, is a sophomore
midfielder on the University of Toledo women’s soccer team.She has started 13 times and appeared in all 18
matches for the Rockets this fall. She has a team-high four assists.Steve Slocum, from Perrysburg High
School, is a freshman on the Miami RedHawks football team.Lindsay Smith, from Perrysburg High School, is a
freshman on the University of Toledo volleyball team.Kyle Smithey, from Elmwood High School, is a sophomore
on the University of Findlay men’s cross country team.Derek Snowden, from Eastwood High School, is a
freshman defender on the Owens Community College men’s soccer team.He has played in 11 matches and has one
goal and one assist.Jady Snyder, from North Baltimore High School, is a freshman on the University of
Findlay football team.Jonathan Stoner, from Bowling Green High School, is a senior on the Wittenberg
football team.He has 29 receptions for 315 and five touchdowns. Stoner is second on the team with the 29
receptions.In a 66-39 win over Wooster, Stoner led the team with seven receptions for 97 yards and two
scores.Lorne Strausbaugh, from Elmwood High School, is a freshman on the Malone University cross country
team.In the All-Ohio open race, Strausbaugh finished in 28:21.80.Hayden Thomas, from Perrysburg High School,
is a freshman on the Bluffton University football team.He has played in five games and has one assisted
tackle.Ashley Timmons, from Lake High School, is a freshman goalkeeper for the Spring Arbor University
women’s soccer team.In a 6-0 win over Goshen (Ind.), Timmons recorded the shutout while making three
saves.For the season, Timmons has appeared in six games, allowing two goals and making four saves.Becca
Tudor, from Perrysburg High School, is a sophomore on the McNeese State University women’s golf team.Kendall
Tudor, from Perrysburg High School, is a junior on the McNeese State University women’s golf team.She has
played three rounds this fall with an 85.0 average.Chelsea Watson, from Bowling Green High School, is a
freshman on the Niagara University volleyball team.She has played in all 82 sets and has 126 kills, 47 digs,
28 blocks, and a team-high 21 aces.Hillary West, from Lake High School, is a redshirt sophomore on the
Lourdes College cross country team.At the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, West was Lourdes’ third finisher in
23:56.70.Bennett Westfall, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the football team at Defiance
College.Mollie Whitacre, from Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the Ohio University women’s soccer
team.Whitacre has played in 18 matches and had scored one goal.Aimee Whitmer, from Otsego High School, is a
senior on the Bluffton University women’s soccer team.She has started all 14 matches this fall, and is
second on the team with six goals and 13 points.She scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 75 minute
in Bluffton’s 2-1 win over Earlham College earlier this month.Elise Wolff, a senior at Eastwood High School,
has received a full scholarship to play volleyball at Alderson Broddaus College, an NCAA Division II school
in Philippi, W.Va.Eric Wymer, a resident of North Baltimore, is a sophomore on the Ohio Northern cross
country track team.In the All-Ohio open race, Wymer was 25th overall in 27:13.40.Emily Wyrick, from
Perrysburg High School, is a freshman on the University of Toledo women’s cross country team.
