College Scene: Roberts selected all-region (12-02-13)

Roberts, from Perrysburg High School, was a junior on the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs soccer
team, 6-7-4 this season.A team captain, Roberts was a second-team all-region pick, and a second-team
all-conference selection.A junior midfielder, Roberts started 16 games and had six goals and three assists,
while also being named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference offensive player of the week twice.Ian Jacobs,
from Perrysburg High Schools, was a junior midfielder on the Tiffin University men’s soccer team.Jon
Juergens, from Eastwood High School, is a senior on the Otterbein College men’s basketball team.Juergens has
started the first four games of the season for Otterbein, and is averaging 4.5 points and 4-0 rebounds per
game.Kelsey Lahey, from Bowling Green High School, was a sophomore outside hitter on the volleyball team at
Marist University.She played in 27 matches, making 11 starts as Marist was 21-9 this season.Lahey had 272
kills, 45 digs, and 24 blocks.Aricka LaVoy, from Eastwood High School, was a freshman on the Owens Community
College volleyball team. She played in all 43 matches for Owens, 22-21.She had 290 digs, 48 aces, and 21
assists for the Express.Zack Leahy, from Rossford High School, is a senior on the Wittenberg University
men’s basketball team.He has started Wittenberg’s first four games and is averaging a team-high 30.0 minutes
per game.He is averaging 11.8 points, a team-high 4.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.Elizabeth Lemon, a
Bowling Green resident, was a senior distance runner on the University of Toledo women’s cross country
team.A.C. Limes, from Otsego High School, was a freshman tight end on the University of Findlay football
team.Shayna Lindley, from Rossford High School, was a sophomore on the Lourdes University volleyball
team.Lourdes was 21-13 overall and advanced to the NAIA national tournament.Jay Marquette, a Rossford
resident, is a junior on the Lee University men’s basketball team.Marquette has started four the Lee’s first
five games, and is averaging 5.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.Ali Mass, a resident of Walbridge, was a
senior on the Lourdes University volleyball team.She was the first fourth-year player in the program, and
she set school records for career matches and career sets played.This season, she had 86 kills, and 107
digs.A senior nursing major with a 3.486 grade point average, Mass was a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic
Conference all-academic selection.Lourdes was 21-13 overall and advanced to the NAIA national
tournament.Kelsea Newman, from Perrysburg High School, is a redshirt freshman on the Youngstown State
University women’s basketball team.She has played in Youngstown State’s first four games and had four points
and six rebounds.Drew Plummer, from Lake High School, was a junior on the Tiffin University women’s soccer
team.She played in 12 matches, making 11 starts.Tara Preble, from Lake High School, was a sophomore on the
Owens Community College women’s soccer team, which finished 17-2-2 and advanced to the national tournament.A
defender, she played in 20 matches, recording three assists.Katie Primeau, from Eastwood High School, was a
junior setter on the Baldwin Wallace volleyball team, 11-18 this season.She played in 20-of-29 matches, and
was third on the team with 286 assists. Primeau also had 131 assists and 19 aces.Marissa Ramirez, from
Northwood High School, was a sophomore on the Owens Community College women’s soccer team, which finished
17-2-2 and advanced to the national tournament.A defender, Ramirez started 20 times and finished with a goal
and two assists.She was a second-team All-Region XII selection for the second consecutive season.Stephanie
Richards, from Perrysburg High School, was a freshman on the Lourdes University volleyball team.Lourdes was
21-13 overall and advanced to the NAIA national tournament.Richards had a team-high 323 kills. She also had
27 aces, 194 digs, and 55 blocks.Mica Robinson, from Elmwood High School, was a freshman on the Notre Dame
(Ohio) football team.Clay Rolf, from Eastwood High School, is a redshirt junior on the Bowling Green State
University football team.Courtney Rolf, from Eastwood High School, was a sophomore on the volleyball team at
the University of Findlay.
