American Family Insurance leads BG tournament (12-20-13)

Heading into the final two squads, American Family Insurance is at the top of the heap in the
annual Bowling Green icity bowling championships in the open division at 3,555.Aardvark Printing holds
the women’s division lead at 3,384.OpenAmerican Family Insurance took the lead on Thursday night topping
Jug’s South’s total of 3,504 which only held the top spot for 24 hours.Bob Trumbull led the leaders with
games of 234, 280 and 245 for a 759 series. Tony Romaker opened with a 290 game and finished with a 289
for a 724. Ken North added three 200 games including a high of 225 in his 641 set. Jim Eckert added
2370, 609 and Jeff Szabo completed the team scoring.The team had games of 1,042, 972 and 1,175 for a
3,189 actual total.Jug’s South temporarily took the lead on Wednesday night with the tournament high
actual set to date with its 3,336. All five bowlers topped the 600 mark, including a pair of 700
series.Larry Long rolled his 18th career 300 game to open the scoring in the first game and finished
with a 714 set. Donnie Backus was close behind with games of 249 and 253 in his 712 set. Robb Waynick
had a 280 game in his 685 series; while Yogi Wammes had a 244 game in her 609 set; while Bill Wammes
added 224, 616.After taking the top spot on the leaderboard Tuesday night, Mason’s BG Car Care only held
on to the lead for a day. The -third-place team recorded a 3,496 total, also on a balanced team
effort.Kyle Friedley was high with a pair of 245 games in his 680 set. Mary Ann Dimick rolled a 259 and
220 in her 666 set. Her son, Brian Dimick, added a 258 and 652. John Dimick completed the family trio
with his 234 and 636. Steve Mason completed the team scoring with his 234, 610.The opening squad of
champions leader Old Guys Rule is now in fourth at 3,415. Bob Vanscoder shot games of 235 and 269 to
lead the team with 727; while Dave Walter was close behind with his 280 and 718.Completing the top five
is One 49 North with 3,394. Brad Simon led the team with games of 252, 237 and 266 in his 755 series.
Jim Adams had a 254 game. Shad King notched a 255 for 630. Chuck Close added a 628.Completing the top 10
are ASD Remodeling, 3,373; Dauterman Financial, 3,362; Cygnet Pizza and Subs, 3,346; a second team
sponsored by American Family Insurance at 3,337; and Son of a Chuckie at 3,325.WomenJen Vanscoder led
Aardvark to the women’s division lead with her 228 game and 598 series. Amy Vanscoder added a 201 for
547. Beck Gibson bowled 508. Barb Peck and Anita Donley completed the team scoring. Early leaders Al-Mar
Girls dropped to second at 3,322. Mary Ann Dimick led the second place team with a 235 and 636. Anita
Sharpe shot 234 for 620. Yogi Wammes contributed 231 and 615. Vicki Schumacher added a 216 game.Butt
Hutt is in third place at 3,290; while Mane Style Salon is currently fourth at 3,215; followed by Flower
