U.S. should be uncomfortable with growing national debt

I am not yet a paying member of the Tea Party, but my husband and I believe in their conservative values. We try to teach our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to be thrifty and pay your debts on time. The goal is to be free of debt, you know. We encourage good character, hard-working, and to have the old-time values of "be a person of your word." It seems that many of our elected people do not hold these values anymore.
Some Washington, D.C., elected officials, mostly the President and other Democrats "spin" the truth so much, that facts are lost. They lie and cheat to get their way. They are not frugal with our money nor do they give a damn about us. They want their special interests taken care of with our money to benefit themselves for re-election. They want lots of people getting government hand-outs and illegal voters helping them get re-elected. America better wake up!
I am thankful for the Representatives and Senators who protest the waste of the government and try to solve this mess. I cannot believe that Wally Pretzer (letter of 10/16/13) believes this massive $17 trillion USA debt is okay. Who in the hell will pay this? We, the people! What if other nations (China) suddenly refuse lending money to us and decide to "foreclose" on our debt! As Margaret Thatcher said, "The trouble with socialism is, that sooner or later, you run out of other peoples' money!"
