On Nov. 5, the citizens of Wood County have an opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of those children and adults with developmental disabilities in our community. For many years, Wood Lane School and Industries has provided high quality, comprehensive services enabling many who otherwise maybe couldn't, achieve their own personal potential.
We have personally observed the success of Wood Lane School and Industries, the Residential Services, Special Olympics, and the Community Employment Services. Attempts to cut costs have been necessary since state funding has been cut, but enrollment is up, due in large part because of the quality of the programs. We have a chance to sustain the success of the many programs that the Wood County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities has by voting yes on Election Day. Please help those among us in need of help "to be all that they can be." Most likely, you'll know that you "made a difference."
