I just wanted to comment on the letter that was written on Jan. 30 about the brand name restaurants in BG. I can agree very much so with Carol Davis that we should have brand name restaurants in our lovely city of Bowling Green. Carol states that "BG is overrun with trendy college age eateries". I completely agree. Yes, I tend to flock to certain places a lot because of the food an atmosphere, but even those get old after awhile, and I then have to go out of town to Perrysburg, Findlay, or Toledo to eat.
With gas prices the way they are now though, it hard to drive out of town.
If we had the brand names here, like Texas Roadhouse, Denny's, Longhorn, and maybe even an Olive Garden to name a few, then more money could come into the city, more people may come to us when traveling down I-75 instead of going to other places like Toledo, Perrysburg or Findlay.
There is a great piece of land that sits just over I-75 towards Meijer that would be a great place for a restaurant. There has to be something that can be done to attract these businesses. Let's see what we can do about that.
