To the Editor: U.S. already has Bill of Rights

Will "they" ever learn? BG voters soundly rejected the charter amendment, the so-called
environmental bill of rights. Since we as Americans already have a Bill of Rights, why did they think we
needed another one? Why did we need a vaguely worded amendment which covers a law already on the books? This
charter amendment was unnecessary and a waste of campaign time and resources. Yet the backers of this and
their out of state financial supporters say they will keep trying, wasting even more resources. BG voters
have spoken – listen to them. Don’t the words, "We the People …" mean anything? They should quit
trying to force their ideas and beliefs on the rest of us. What part of no don’t they understand?Herb
