Carlene Creps' letter ("Obama responsible for federal mess," Sentinel-Tribune, Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013) reminds me of a small child throwing a temper tantrum to get his way. Her continuous outrageously stated outbursts are ridiculous.
She completely overlooks that House Speaker John Boehner, together with his Tea Party Republicans, brought our nation and its people to a standstill. He will not even allow the budget bill to be voted on because he is afraid that there will be a sufficient number of Republicans who will vote with the Democrats to pass it to open government again. Perhaps he is afraid of losing his position to Representative Eric Cantor, Tea Party sympathizer, who would be next in line to become Speaker.
No, no, Ms. Creps, President Obama is not a small child throwing a tantrum to get his way. He is a responsible individual who is right in thinking that the budget bill should be voted on without any strings attached. Perhaps Ms. Creps is a Tea Party Republican who has brewed her red-hot diatribe with considerable venom. What needs to be done is to vote out all the extremist Tea Party Republicans who continue to damage this nation. Even some non-Tea Party Republicans as well as their corporate sponsors are beginning to think this a good idea because of excessively extremist views.
I do not think that Rep. Bob Latta is a Tea Party Republican, but he certainly is a sympathizer, so it will be time to vote him out of office, too, at the next opportunity.
