To the Editor: Support sought for Northwood Schools

I would just like to say that as a current Northwood resident and former school board member I have seen the need for additional funds to operate our schools. I am like most people in that I do not like to pay more in taxes and not see anything substantial being done. Having said that I believe the current board and administration have done an outstanding job in making the current funds go as far as they have at this time.
I believe it has been 5 years since the last time the board has asked for a levy of any kind which is pretty remarkable considering the state average, I believe is 3 years. I know that over the past 6 years the district has had to make some pretty drastic changes to the way the business of operating a school district is done. Not everything that has been done has always been the most popular decision, but I believe it has been done with the most thought and effort to make the right decision for the people of Northwood.
I would ask that the voters of Northwood consider this when placing their vote for the opportunity to enhance and grow our school district in the upcoming elections.
