To the Editor: Stamp Out Hunger a big success

Again, the “Stamp out Hunger” post office food drive was a big success! Our friends in BG and surrounding areas came through for the many families who need our pantry.
Your generosity has never let us down. We have wonderful friends who see our need and dig deep to fill that need. This year, we collected over 5,000 pounds of food!
God blessed us with perfect weather and the carriers were kind enough to go that extra mile to collect and deliver the food right to our pantry. They went above and beyond a routine day and we appreciate them all.
A special thanks to Postmaster Scott Wise for his help to see we had totes to put food in. Also to Jeff and Deb Knowlton for overseeing the drive, Bill Eblin, Roosevelt Chandler and Doug Dunipace for putting in a long day to help us sort and stock shelves. Volunteers help make a big job easier.
