To the Editor: Proud to call BG home, support its schools

To the Editor:
I have been a resident of Bowing Green since 1988, staying after college and choosing to get married and to raise my family here.  One of the reasons I love this town so much is the vibrant community we live in. I strongly feel that excellent schools are a big part of the reason this community remains so strong. Even before I ever considered having children, I always supported our schools and yes, I was a property owner at that time.  All this negativity being spread by Bob Maurer is infecting the discourse like a virus. His letters and signs about our schools are filled with untruths and misinformation, their only intention is to confuse and anger voters.  I would argue that one of the reasons Mr. Maurer is as wealthy as he is today, is because of our great community that he continually expands his rental properties in.
Strong schools lead to better property values and therefore better communities.  I am proud to support our schools, and our children’s future. I am proud to call Bowling Green my home. I will continue my efforts to make it a great place for all of BG’s residents.  Please join me in supporting our school levy with a “yes” vote on May 7.
