To the Editor: Otsego community thanked for food drive generosity

I want to thank all of the scouts, leaders and parents who participated in the recent Scouting For Food Drive. It was a great success and all of the hard work will benefit many of our less fortunate neighbors in the Otsego School District! Troops participated from Grand Rapids, Haskins, Tontogany and Weston. It wasn't the nicest day we've ever had, but the days will seem brighter for those who will be assisted. I need to thank Lisa Ann Hatfield for coordinating the drop off of food and the sorting and counting.
I also want to thank all those who remembered to put a bag of food out by their door. The scouts go around the week prior to the event and pass out fliers, then go back in a week and do the pick-up. All of their hard work would be for nothing if area residents didn't come through - as they always do.  God bless, have a great rest of 2013 and thanks again!
