To the Editor: Otsego board should listen to the people

I find it very troubling that the Otsego School board is going forward with its plan to have a central campus. Yes, there are some benefits for a central campus, but knowing how divided the school district is something that the board needs to look at. The board says that they are doing what is best for the children. I do not think that option is best at all. It is my firm belief that this is being pushed on us now because of the fact of three board members are running for re-election. They realize that there might not be a centralized campus majority after the election.
I believe that there are some good candidates that will be running for the three seats that are open this year.
Hopefully, these candidates will hear the voice of the people, not just those who you agree with.
If the board does not listen to the majority including the taxpayers in Weston (it is not only Weston that has not passed levies, what about our residents in Henry and Lucus counties), it will be very hard for the board to ever get another issue passed again. Instead of dividing us even more by doing the lease plan, listen to us please! If you continue to not listen, maybe Bowling Green would like the Village of Weston to become a part of their school district.
