The Sentinel-Tribune offers a section on their paper for people to write letters to the editor, which is fabulous.
One of the requirements of the person writing the letter, is to submit their name. Once the letter is published, it is available online for everyone to read and to make comments.
I have read many of these letters online and have read the comments people have made. Some which are very disturbing, hateful and inaccurate. I wonder how many people would make the comments they have made, if they had to put their names to them. Why do they feel a need to hide behind a nickname? If they are passionate about a subject and feel a need to make a comment, then they should be proud of their stance and put their name to it.
