No Christmas for Congress! until they settle the budget issues! They need to start 'representing' the people who elected them and not their political party!

They've been having "Christmas" off us forever; this year will be no different.

I was very proud of the offer they put forward the other day. It was common sense proposal that was actually based on a Democrat's recommendations . It was in the true spirit of compromise and moving forward. Unfortunately Obama has no interest in helping this country, let alone doing the right thing.

The republicans are offering nothing. All they are offering is cuts to medicare and social security. They are also offering tax cuts to the wealthy, I say go over the cliff.

They offered the plan that was originally put forth by a democrat.

I am glad that others feel the way I do. I think we should fire them all. Most other citizens can run things better than Congress. Why are we sooooooo stupid to believe them anymore? I think there should be a Rep and Dem elected as President. Maybe that way things could be balanced, they don't leave the room until a good decision is reached. OMG, it's almost The holidays, they will be out for several weeks, OMG, we don't celebrate Christmas any more, then why are they off?

Yes, they just decided they wanted a 5 day weekend, and won't be back in session until Tuesday! It must be nice to collect your pay and benefits, and only work about 1/3 of the year.

NO NO NO NO NO!

With the 'modern' advancement of the internet, why do people continually believe and post these utter falsehoods?!?!?

The budget issues have been settled, but apparently now most believe that what was already agreed to will take us over a cliff and do more harm than good. Is that unique, government policy doing more harm than good? Maybe that is the new normal.

Actually, this is one of the more garbled understandings of the sequestration agreement I have ever read. The entitlement spending vs. taxation balance is far from settled, and that is what this all about--the automated budget cuts that will kick in (and which were agreed to by BOTH parties in Congress) if they are not.
