This is to rebut Lisa Kocheiser's statement challenging the B.G. Coalition, which I am a member. During Mayor Edwards' news conference, Lisa, you claim the Director of Utilities, Mr. Brian O'Connell's utility rate figures are wrong.
Brian is an engineer. It takes one to know one. Mr. O'Connell's numbers are as accurate as they can be. If you don't like them, hire an engineer to show me his/her figures. Not an attorney. What does an attorney know about engineering?
Being a civil engineer with a master's degree, I design highways, bridges, buildings, water treatment plants and sewerage treatment plants, etc. In my 50-year engineering career, I know numbers.
Also, Jennifer Karches accuses our coalition of putting the brochures in the City Building. Why not? You are running against the city and the citizens of B.G.
This is a campaign ... not kid play. Did our coalition stop your so-called experts coming to B.G. every week, spreading threats and rumors of fracking to the citizens of B.G.? By the way, how much are you paying for a bunch of speakers of yours and who is really funding you and your attorney who wrote two pages of gibberish into our City Charter?
Dear residents of B.G., please don't be tricked by them trying to change our City Charter which is an important document not to be abused for political purpose.
If you are against fracking, it is OK with me. For your info, we already have an ordinance to stop fracking in B.G. There is no need to change the City Charter...redundant.
Please vote "no" on the Charter Amendment on Nov. 5 or earlier. Thank you.
