To the Editor:

I am requesting that officials of the Sentinel change your policy regarding on-line (blog) comments made on your news stories and Letters to the Editor (LTE). Those submitting on-line comments should be required to give the same information as those submitting LTE's. T
he current policy has fostered misinformation, half-truths, and vicious personal attacks. The current policy in which a person does not identify themselves allows for personal accusations of others without the accused be able to 'face' their accuser. In addition the current policy often fosters confusion when different contributors use very similar aliases. I understand that the current policy may generate a flurry of 'hits' for the Sentinel; however, all contributions should be held to a standard of decency that fosters cooperation and real discussion of issues rather than pages of personal attacks hidden behind the protection of a pseudonym.
