To the Editor: 'Lake Conneaut' is no more

An update on Lake Conneaut: The lake that has typically formed every spring in the Conneaut School area behind our house and several others.  This year it didn't, in spite of heavy rains in early spring.  More accurately, it did begin to form, but it didn't stay.
So we offer a fervent thank you to Superintendent Ann McVey and Neil Gearhart. McVey took the problem seriously and started pushing for a solution. Gearhart and his crews, and some crews from the city, did a lot of digging and between them did something right. This year our garden did not flood, it has a good crop of strawberries, and our new sump pump has not groaned or given up.  So my thanks to everyone involved.

Jill, if something that the city repairs, due to the growth of population, that is considered UPKEEP, so OUR money was put to good use. If it was YOUR property that was being damaged, so you could not use it, YOU would want something done too !

Your a jerk. They pay taxes too and deserve not to have their yard flooded -which I believe from a previous letter caused their sump pumps to die and they had to purchase another one. If something is not working right, they have every right to complain and have it fixed! If it were your yard (or trailer) you'd cry and cry until it got fixed and probably wouldn't have handled it as diplomatically or respectfully as the Guions did. And I'd bet you wouldn't send a THank you to them either!!!
