Grand Rapids, Ohio-a village with vision, but along with vision comes fiscal responsibility and that is something our village can be proud of. I have had LaRoe's Restaurant for 36 years and during those years I have seen Grand Rapids transformed into something special. This is due to the combined efforts of our residents, merchants and village leaders. Never has Grand Rapids been in financial dis repair yet the Village and the Historical Society built the Lincoln Street River Walk with restrooms, the Village purchased the land next to the Mill House Bed & Breakfast for an additional parking lot for our downtown, a grant was written and accepted for city docks, a new streetscape was done of our business district, a timber frame was erected on the towpath, Pirates Park was landscaped and the towpath and canal have been continually maintained.
Hats off to our residents, mayor, merchants and the village council along with the city administrator and his staff.
History has proven that Grand Rapids has a winning combination that many towns have envied
