The Cocoon Shelter remembers David C. Miller at its annual fundraiser.
.During the last year, with the tremendous support of community members, the Bowling Green Community Foundation, and the Toledo Community Foundation, the Cocoon Shelter expanded services in Wood County well beyond provision of shelter. In fact, about 90% of services provided to victims of abuse and their children in 2012-2013 did not include shelter. Instead, they included 24 hour advocacy, support, and crisis intervention, assistance obtaining crime victim compensation, protection orders, medical care, meeting basic needs, developing financial literacy, economic empowerment, and support groups. In addition, services were expanded so that Cocoon staff now have access to office space in Perrysburg and North Baltimore so that services can be provided more effectively throughout the county.
Your support makes all the difference; we hope to see you in October.
