BGSU Students and Clean Energy:
I am interested in this subject. But before the students go much farther I suggest the "Wind is not at their back". They need to meet with the BG officials to find out why after several years there are only 4 wind turbines west of town.
Then they need to do some research to find out why Solar Firms are going bankrupt. Then they need to assess the role financial grants play in the plans.
Finally they need to seek out the October 2011 issue of High Plains Journal where the cost of solar to the power companies is 44 to 80 cents per kilowatt hour. This is far above the 4 cents per kwh for standard power.
If then they wish to increase tuition payments to cover the extra cost, that is another marketing project.
