There has been much debate on health care reform. I've heard some pretty sorry excuses why we don't need a public health care option.
I recently became aware of some very interesting facts concerning the Canadian Health Care System.
Canada spends 10% of GDP for health care. In the U.S. we spend 16%!
Canadians live an average of 80.4 years and we Americans live 2.5 yrs less at 77.8!
Canada has an infant mortality death rate of 5.4 out of 1000. In the US it is 6.37 out of 1000!
So Canada spends approximate two thirds of what the U.S. spends for health care and gets better results!
Oh by the way, in Canada everyone has health care insurance. In the U.S. something like 12% of the population have no health care insurance.
We need a public health care option in the USA!
