To the Editor: BG man seeks information on his missing paintings

0

Recently I have had an issue with some large (4 by 6 foot) multi-media contemporary art paintings
belonging to myself, Robert B. Blackwell. As you might or might not know, the paintings were my life’s
work, and are quite valuable to me and my family.
They were being stored at the Northside Storage owned by the Root family. Since the father and one son
died, the remaining brother decided to sell the convenience store, car wash and storage units to the
Halleck brothers, who are now the owners. They claim they have no knowledge of my ever renting there,
but I do have canceled checks.
They were being stored in this self-storage bin in which no one was to have access to without prior
knowledge of the owner and at which time the property would be handled by myself.
At no time was a letter, phone call or any form of communication commuted to me, the owner.
Pictures of the paintings were photographed by Mr. Jeff Hall and made into slides to be used in entering
art exhibits – many which won awards. They were to be kept safe.
All the pictures were named by Robert Blackwell Jr. before his untimely death. Some were signed by myself
by a clever method known only to my family.
The slides were made into pictures and are to be evaluated by the BGSU Fine Arts Department. This is
difficult for art work is seen only by the beholder.
If anyone has knowledge of these paintings – please, please call 419-353-3352 or put them on the east
side of the house at 708 W. Wooster. If you saw them being trashed, burned, sold or carted away, please
inform me. No questions asked, but there is a reward for any information regarding this art work.
