In May, 2008 our then 24 years-old daughter-in-law Julie (Long) Amos was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Julie and our son Rich are both graduates of Otsego and BGSU. They married in 2006 and are the parents of two beautiful young children - our grandchildren - Ellynn and Evan.
Rich is an organ procurement coordinator and Julie is the best stay-at-home mom we could ever ask for. Julie is caring, sweet, creative, thoughtful, goofy and fun. She loves people and is full of adventure. Because of the effects of the MS, Ellynn also says "mommy is wiggly."
The "Juls of Friendship Strike Out MS" benefit for MS will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 from 8-10 PM at Al-Mar Bowling Lanes in Bowling Green, Ohio.
With the purchase of a $20 ticket, participants can bowl all they want and enjoy some pizza too. There will also be a silent auction/raffle including handmade items and prizes from a variety of businesses.
All proceeds will go to the National MS Society which funds cutting-edge research to treat MS and provides programs and services to people living with MS.
If you don't wish to bowl, please come on out, enjoy some dinner, check out the auction and stop by and say hi.
Or if you are unable to join us, we hope you will still consider making a donation in any amount large or small.
Checks should be made payable to "Tina Thomas" with "Juls of Friendship" on the memo line and mailed to Juls of Friendship, 1298 County Road T3, Grand Rapids, OH 43522.
We know that with your help, someday soon, someone's dollar is going to make the difference in finding a cause and a cure for this disease.
Please help us find a cure. For Julie. For Rich. For Ellynn. For Evan. For all of us that love someone that has been affected by this disease.
