We're from the federal government and we're here to help!
Gee thanks. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur has secured $450,000 to study moving the BCII laboratory from Bowling Green to Toledo.
The federal debt is $12 trillion and our friends in Washington are about to add another $2 trillion with health-care. Who has to pay for that? Taxpayers have to pay, and our children and their children.
We are out of money, but the federal government has almost one half million dollars to study moving a state laboratory? Isn't it just like Washington to tell us in Ohio what is best for us? After all they are so superior to us bumpkins in Ohio.
We can save a half a million dollars. It is simple. The BCII lab in Bowling Green is not broke, so don't "fix" it. Moving the lab to MUO will only make it less accessible for those who use it.
As I understand it, the argument in favor of moving the lab is to have it close to a university. I'm sure they don't know it in Washington (except Congressman Latta) but BGSU is just across the street from the lab in BG. Someone should invite Congresswoman Kaptur to BG so she can see that BGSU is maybe 400 yards away.
If we just have to spend $450,000 that we don't have, then spend it to improve the lab we have, not on a study that will help no one. Stop the waste of our money already. Please! Let Ms. Kaptur know that we want her to keep her hands off our community. Her phone is (800) 964-4699 and e-mail is found at: www.kaptur.house.gov
