|To the Editor: BG woman wants stores, not bars|

I wish to commend those respectable young ladies for speaking up in their letter "BG bars urged to never again host Girls Gone Wild."
When I was younger, Bowling Green was a nice place to live. Not so any more unfortunately! There are areas west of the college campus, namely the area bordered by Ridge Street and N. College, that you do not walk along at night if you are female.
We also would be doing this town a favor if we removed the bars from downtown. When I was a young adult there were actual businesses where you could shop. Now, because of the bars, I don't even go downtown to do business.
Finally, why not get some businesses that sell some much needed goods to relocate in downtown Bowling Green, like groceries or clothes or shoes? Those things are really needed to have in the middle of town.
