Two hurt as Ohio fire truck slides on ice, hits pole

MIAMISBURG, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say two firefighters were hurt when a fire truck accompanying medics to a crash site skidded on an icy road and slammed into a utility pole in southwest Ohio.

The crash was reported before dawn Tuesday in Miamisburg, just south of Dayton. The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/1e3K03E ) reports at least two firefighters were taken to a hospital with injuries.

There was no immediate word on the extent of those injuries.

Authorities planned to tow the damaged fire truck from the scene. The utility pole also was damaged.
