AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in northeast Ohio say a 52-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair was
struck by a train at a railroad crossing and died.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says the gates at the Akron crossing were down at the time,
and witnesses reported the man went around the gates before he was struck Sunday morning.
The Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/1lIBj7h ) reports an autopsy was scheduled Monday.
The circumstances of the Akron man’s death remain under investigation.
