SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — Three people have suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Perkins Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 6:20 p.m. Sunday when the driver of a car became distracted by an object that fell in his vehicle and ran a red light. He struck a car making a left turn.

The first driver, 18-year-old Zachary McClellan of Maumee, and his passenger, 17-year-old Kasey Volpitta of Whitehouse, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The second driver, 38-year-old Kelly Rigoni of Port Clinton was taken to a local hospital and then air lifted to Cleveland Metro Hospital. She suffered non-life threatening injuries.
