SUV hits highway pillar in SW Ohio; driver, toddler killed

CINCINNATI (AP) — Cincinnati police say a driver lost
control on Interstate 75 and struck an overpass pillar, killing the
woman and her 2-year-old daughter and a seriously injuring her
5-year-old daughter.
Police suspect the woman was speeding in a
55-mph zone when she lost control of her sport utility vehicle and
crashed into a guardrail and then the pillar late Thursday.
The 30-year-old woman died at the scene.
The
Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the girls were trapped in the vehicle
and had to be rescued by firefighters. The younger child died at a
hospital. Her sister was being treated in stable condition.
