TIFFIN, Ohio (AP) — A woman accused of setting a house fire
that killed two deaf people in northwestern Ohio has pleaded not guilty
by reason of insanity.
A judge ordered that 31-year-old Shey
Weiker undergo an evaluation after she entered the plea Wednesday in a
Seneca County court.
She’s one of three people charged in the arson fire last month in Fostoria that left two people dead and
one hospitalized.
Authorities
say Weiker used a railroad flare to start the fire on May 26 that
killed 48-year-old Danny Marker Jr. and 44-year-old Tara Vance.
A
detective said abuse allegations made against Marker spurred the group
to set the fire. Their attorneys have not returned calls seeking
comment.
