COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Arnold Sports Festival beginning Thursday in central Ohio is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the professional bodybuilding championships named for actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The Arnold Classic is a highlight of the festival, which runs through Sunday and includes bodybuilding, weightlifting and other competitions. Organizers say the events are expected to draw about 18,000 athletes and more than 100,000 spectators and fitness enthusiasts to Columbus, providing an economic boost and extra attention for the area.
Organizers say the new events this year include a 5-kilometer obstacle course race.
