DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Prosecutors say six men charged with
theft are part of two related groups suspected in a total of at least 60
cellphone store break-ins around Ohio and in Indianapolis and
Louisville, Ky.
Ohio’s attorney general says the men from Dayton,
Ohio, are suspected of stealing more than $300,000 in electronics in
smash-and-grab thefts between April 2012 and January 2014. Prosecutors
allege the men sold the items and used profits to pay for clothes and
hotel rooms.
The charges include theft, breaking and entering and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
Five men ranging in age from 18 to 20 were taken into custody, and a warrant was issued for a 34-year-old
suspect.
Two juveniles also are charged in the case.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the defendants have attorneys.
