Shootings drive Little Leaguers from Cleveland park

CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) — A youth baseball league won’t play games at a Cleveland park anymore because of
recent shootings there.
The West Denison Little League is scrambling to find other fields after two shootings in three days at
Thrush Park on the city’s west side.
WOIO-TV (http://bit.ly/1obSFMB ) reports that a man was fatally shot there Saturday, which led to a game
being canceled. Then on Monday a teen was shot and wounded at the edge of a park as kids were playing
ball across the field.
League president Donna Woods says games that had been scheduled for the park won’t be played there until
parents can feel confident their kids will be safe. The city is working with the league to find other
fields.
Cleveland police say Monday’s shooting happened even with officers on foot patrol at the park.
