ZANESVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities looking for two people
reported in an eastern Ohio river plan to resume the search after an
overnight break.
A Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher said the search suspended Wednesday evening would resume
Thursday.
The Zanesville Times Recorder (http://ohne.ws/1pOSx40 ) reports authorities
received a call Tuesday about two people in the
rain-swollen Muskingum River. A witness working nearby says a young man
bobbing in the middle of the river called for help before disappearing
downstream.
Authorities found boat debris and suspect the two people in the water were boaters.
Authorities
responding after the initial call for help found the body of a
different man in the water later Tuesday. The sheriff says he was
identified as a 67-year-old Blue Rock man who’d been missing for more
than a week.
