CINCINNATI (AP) — Some $20,000 in rewards were being offered Thursday as the search grew for a University of Cincinnati student missing since early Sunday.
Police said they were bringing in additional volunteers in the effort to locate Brogan Dulle, 21, who was last seen at a pizza pub near campus. He was headed back to his apartment at about 2 a.m. Sunday when he realized he lost his cellphone and decided to retrace his steps. He never returned home.
Police have said they have no reason to suspect foul play. However, friends and family members described Dulle as very responsible. His phone hasn’t been located, either.
Rewards include $10,000 from the school for information leading to him, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported (http://cin.ci/1vB3aKl ). UC President Santa Ono said he is personally offering $5,000, with another $5,000 coming from a university discretionary fund. Restaurateur Jeff Ruby has said he will add $7,500 to the family’s $2,500 reward offer.
“A member of the UC family is missing,” Ono said. “ ... We want him back home and at UC.”
Volunteers were also using social media to organize searches for Dulle, who is a sophomore studying to be a teacher. He also is a local swimming coach.
Some 50 family members and friends gathered for the prayer vigil Wednesday night.
Parents Beth and Tom Dulle said in a statement that want to thank everyone, including many complete strangers, who are helping.
“We are hopeful that Brogan will be found safe and soon,” they said. “We miss him and love him very much. Brogan, if you see this, nothing matters but getting you home.”
