TALLMADGE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say decomposed remains believed to be those of a woman and a child were found in a wooded area behind a northeast Ohio home.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office planned autopsies Monday to help determine who they were and how they died.

Police found the remains Saturday in Tallmadge, about 25 miles south of Cleveland, after a woman called authorities. Police Lt. Ron Williams told WJW-TV that a missing persons case under investigation involved "suspicious circumstances" and people at the home near where the remains were found.

Neighbors told other Cleveland-area TV outlets that a woman and her son lived at the home but hadn't been seen in weeks.
