SALIDA, Colo. (AP) — Authorities believe remains found on a
Colorado mountain are those of 64-year-old Gene George of Ohio, who has
been missing he went hiking in the area in September.
The Chaffee (CHAY’-fee) County Sheriff’s Department says the remains were found Monday on 14,420-foot
Mount Harvard.
Another
hiker found a wallet and clothing Sunday near a trail leading to the
summit of Mount Harvard and another peak. He led the Chaffee County
Search and Rescue team to the site Monday, when the remains were found.
George,
of Cleveland, was last heard from on Sept. 18 when he spoke by phone
with his girlfriend in Cleveland. He was reported missing four days
