EMPIRE, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say they're looking for a man and his three children at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Leelanau County Undersheriff Steve Morgan tells the Traverse City Record-Eagle the agency received a call to be on the lookout for the family, who are from Emmet County.

WWTV-WWUP reports that a park ranger found the father's silver Mercedes at the Coast Guard Maritime Heritage Museum at Sleeping Bear Dunes.

The station says police found "unusual things" in the car but won't say what they were.

Park rangers, sheriff's deputies and crews from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, state police and the Coast Guard are searching the park.
