MANSFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in the north-central Ohio city of Mansfield say a 16-year-old boy arrested for arson at a house admitted he set that fire and was involved in seven more other vacant residences in the same area.
Police Detective Dave Scheurer tells the Mansfield News Journal (http://ohne.ws/18xDRcP ) that the Mansfield teenager did not explain a motive for his actions.
The teen told police he set a fire at a home on Monday afternoon using a lighter and a note. A witness told police he saw the boy in the area of the fire.
The teen is being held in a detention center, and more charges may be filed.
